LYMAN — Gabrielle “June” Champagne, 84, of Lyman, died on Jan. 28, 2014 at The Pavilion in Sanford.
She was born in Biddeford on June 13, 1929, a daughter of Joseph and Irene (Ross) Kerry.
She attended local schools and was a 1947 graduate of Biddeford High School.
On Feb. 2, 1973, she married Paul Champagne in Biddeford.
June started her career as a telephone operator. She also worked as an assembler for Maremont Company for 25 years before retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed being active and spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Marc Fournier in 2002; her first husband, Lionel Fournier in 1968; and a sister, Betty Anton in 2003.
June is survived by: her husband of 41 years, Paul Champagne of Lyman; six daughters, Michele Shlager and her husband Bruce of Plymouth, Mass., Peggy Townsend and her husband Jim of Hollis, Marie Harris and her husband Dave of Goodyear, Ariz., Maddy Adams of Portland, Muriel White and her husband Steve of Westbrook and Monica Mirando and her husband Carl of Cheshire, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Claire Champagne of Biddeford and Joan Spaulding of Deltona, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Arlene Roy of Saco; one brother, Richard Kerry of Malden, Mass.; one sister, Susan Marcotte and her husband Jim of Trinity, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Pavilion for their care and compassion for June.
Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at the funeral home.
