SACO — Jessie E. Audie, 87, of Saco, passed away Friday evening on Jan. 17, 2014, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born in Portland on Jan. 7, 1927, a daughter of Ernest and Nellie (Harmon) McGee.

She attended Portland and Saco schools.

Jessie married her husband Normand on Sept. 15, 1951. They owned and operated Audie’s Cabins in Old Orchard Beach for 42 years.

She also was a homemaker whose entire life centered around her family. Her greatest joy in life was spoiling her grandchildren. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. As soon as it was over, she would start buying gifts for them for the next year.

Mrs. Audie was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Saco.

She was preceded in death by: one grandson, Normand; and by two brothers, Ernest

and Richard.

She is survived by: her husband of 62 years, Normand W. Audie of Saco; four children, Stephen P. Audie and his wife Kathleen of Biddeford, Bruce N. Audie and his wife Karen of Saco, Kimberley A. Hirsch and her husband Joseph of Lyman and Lori J. Buhelt and her husband William of Waterboro; one brother, John McGee and his wife Beatrice of Saco; five grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Bradley, Lauren and Katie and her husband Matthew Cote; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Tiffany; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 403 Main St., Saco.
