KENNEBUNK — Edmund Donald “Sandy” Robinson Sr., 76, of West Kennebunk, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 18, 2014 at Southridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Biddeford.
He was born in Sanford on June 23, 1937, the son of George Robinson and Alice Gene (Shuffle-burg) Robinson.
Sandy was a long-haul trucker for most of his career. Before retiring, he worked as a truck driver for the Town of Kennebunk.
In younger years, he was a member of several snowmobiling clubs. He enjoyed his animals, farm living and dancing. Sandy was always willing to tackle a project, no matter what the result. His favorite saying was “That’s not broke, it can be fixed!”
He is survived by: his son, Edmund D. “Skip” Robinson Jr. of West Kennebunk; two daughters, Alice Piper of Kennebunk and Laurie Robinson of New York; two stepdaughters, Barbara Cook of Kennebunk and Tina Cook of Texas; nine grandchildren, Melinda, Matthew, Dama, Violet, Elizabeth, Catalina, Keltsi, Chandra and Charli; and five great-grandchildren, Sadie, John, Savanna, Krysta and Caven.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 from 4-7 p.m., with family and friends invited to share stories and remembrances at 6:30 p.m., at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
