SANFORD — Dr. William E. Chernin, 55, of Sanford, died Jan. 4 at his home.

Funeral services were held in Portsmouth, N.H. A celebration of Dr. Chernin’s life will be held locally on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at the Curtis Lake Christian Church, 38 Westview Drive in Sanford. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church from 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the church at 3 p.m. Local arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
