TOPSHAM

The clock is ticking; it’s almost time.

Time for Topsham to kickoff the year long celebration of its 250th birthday on New Year’s Eve. Residents, families — all are invited to the Topsham Fairgrounds on Dec. 31 to enjoy the warmth of an evening bonfire and the company of other community members, for as little or long as they want. The event will run from 8 a.m. to midnight.

There will be music and horse-drawn wagon or sleigh rides available at no cost starting at 8 p.m.. Included in the festivities is a fireworks show scheduled for 9 p.m. made possible with a donation from John Wasileski.

The exhibition hall on the fairgrounds will be open for those seeking warmth or refreshments.

The Topsham Fairgrounds are located at 54 Elm St. Learn more about the town’s 250th anniversary celebration by visiting “Topsham, Maine 250th Celebration” on Facebook.
