BUXTON – The Buxton Police Department and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Dec. 6 arrested three men at a Buxton residence and seized a cache of weapons, cash and drugs after they were in custody.
Dale Pinkham Sr., 53, and Dale Pinkham Jr., 23, were arrested on warrants at their home at 68 Hurlin Smith Road stemming from a prior incident during which police said Pinkham Sr. assaulted a man and Pinkham Jr. discharged a firearm into the ground near the same man.
Police alleged Raymond Pinkham, 20, of Gorham, who also was arrested at the residence, had “possession of a concealed handgun that was reportedly stolen in Biddeford.”
Buxton Police Chief Mike Grovo said in a report on Dec. 9 that the three Pinkham men were taken to York County Jail in Alfred.
Agents, police officers and Portland’s K9 unit executed a search warrant following the arrests. Authorities seized “20 grams of raw heroin, 30 methadone pills, five pounds of processed marijuana, $4,500 cash, and 17 firearms,” including six handguns, according to Grovo’s report.
Grovo also said in the report, “Other items indicative of drug trafficking were also seized.”
The police said Pinkham Sr., is a convicted felon and prohibited from having firearms. He was arrested on charges of assault and possession of firearms by a prohibited person.
Pinkham Jr. was arrested on charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon (firearm) and aggravated trafficking in schedule drugs (heroin).
Raymond Pinkham was charged with theft by receiving (stolen firearm).
On Tuesday, a spokesman at the jail said Pinkham Jr. was there while the other two were bailed out, but the spokesman did not have bail information. Grovo said on Tuesday that Pinkham Sr. had nine conditions attached to bail and Raymond Pinkham, eight conditions.
Grovo said additional, future charges on each of the three is expected.
