BRUNSWICK — The 16th annual 5RAA Arts Downtown and All Around Exhibit & Sale celebrates the creative talent that lives and creates within our town and communities.
The event Dec. 6-8 features a gathering of art studios, galleries, museums and group shows with musicians sharing in their song. Visitors will find a full weekend of fine arts and crafts from the region including paintings, clay, textiles, hand carved wood pieces, jewelry, mixed-media pieces, baskets and othe handmade items.
Five Rivers Arts Alliance’s events will take place at venues in and around Brunswick and in Bowdoinham.
The group show at 98 Maine street includes artists Heather Atwood, Angie Blevins, Lynette Breton, Robin Brooks, Don Bruce, Maria Castellano-Usery, Thomas Conway, Diane Friese, Terry Grasse, Phil Gray, Hati Modr, Heather Monsen, Patti Olds, Allison Price, Howard Search, Susan Tobey, Bill Tomsa, Mary Alice Treworgy, Mary Becker Weiss, Ken Wise and Catherine Worthington.
Galleries around town include Bayview Gallery, SummerIsland Studio Gallery of Fine Artisans, Spindleworks and The Peary MacMillan Artic Museum.
Artists opening their studios include Connine Lundquist, Karl Saila, Camille Davidson, Tom Brudzinski/LobstArt Studios, Ed McCartan and WindeWillow.
The Bowdoinham Guild of Fine Artisans will have its annual group show at the Bowdoinham Town Hall.
Musicians playing at various venues include Bruce Grover, Randy Lindsey, Nancy Sferra, Pretty Girls Sing Soprano, Michael Krapovicky, Louise Gephart and Shanna Underwood.
So, come out and join in the festivities. This is a perfect time to pick up gifts for the special people in your life, while supporting artists and craftspeople in your local community. Meet the artists and learn the story behind the piece of art that you are taking home.
