Westbrook High School will host its annual talent show Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., in the school auditorium. Tickets are $5 general admission for the variety show, which will feature 16 different acts.

According to Rick Soloman, director of Westbrook’s theater department, the school has been hosting a yearly talent show for more than 30 years.

Usually, the show is held in the spring, but this year, he said, the talent show is the department’s fall show, due to the theater department’s planned performance of “Godspell,” a musical, this spring.

“Personally, this is my seventh year directing and organizing the talent show,” Soloman said Monday. “It’s always a big event here at Westbrook High School.”

This year’s 16 acts feature 22 students in performances ranging from singing and piano solo, to hip hop, tango, and contemporary dance.

Solomon said student interest is always high for the event.

John O’Hara, now a freshman at Berklee College of Music in Boston, performs a piano solo during last year’s talent show at Westbrook High School. This year’s show, taking place this Thursday evening, will feature 16 acts.
