Recently, there has been controversy involving University of Southern Maine about the subject of physics. The university claimed that the program has low enrollment, and there were not a lot of students for the upper level. I don’t think that they should be dropping the course because in every aspect of science study, physics also plays an important role. They can offer fewer classes for the course if there are not a lot of students that are interested, because not everybody likes the same thing. What would happen to the students who actually like the course and want to continue their studies to become a physicist? How would you feel if one of the students was your son or daughter? This problem has also had a huge impact on the professors that teach physics. They lose their jobs without doing anything wrong. Right now, they are fighting back to keep their courses and also to help their students get the education that they need to pursue their dreams. We should all stand up against this ridiculous decision that the university has made. We should have a protest and gather all of the physics students and the angry professors to fight for their class. We can all help by joining forces and standing side by side until the president of USM decides to put back the course.

All in all, the University of Southern Maine should reconsider their decision, or else we will start this protest. It should happen in front of the physics department and all around the school. Everybody should come and support the students and the professors. We need to come together hand in hand and stay strong until they approve it. If this protest will not change their mind, we will take it to court and make a headline across North America.
