BATH — The perfect combination of creative energy will meet at the Chocolate Church Arts Center with the opening reception for the Holiday Small Wonders art exhibit and the next in the series of the Third Friday Concerts featuring Robby Simpson and The Thunderbirds.
For years during March-September, Bath has come alive on the third Fridays when art galleries uniformly open to the public. Now that the weather has turned cooler, the tradition has continued but focuses on local musicians and the performing arts at the Chocolate Church.
The November calendar aligns perfectly to combine visual and performing arts in one artful evening on Friday, Nov. 15.
The reception for the final art exhibition of the year, “Holiday Small Wonders,” will begin at 5 p.m. with works by Howard Search, Lois Strickland, kdb, Maya Kuvaja, David Costello, Jane Page Conway and Andrea Black.
This show is especially curated with the intent of showcasing art priced at or below $200 for gift giving.
That evening, the next Third Friday Concert series to benefit the Chocolate Church will celebrate local musicians Robby Simpson and the Thunderbirds, with opening performances by Lisa Redfern, an award-winning singer-songwriter who blends folk, bluegrass, country, gospel, blues and swing to create something unmistakably her own; and Aaron Nadeau, who combines masterful guitar with his own blend of poetic lyrics.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
People curious about the visual arts or who enjoy music are encouraged to attend this evening of everything creative and local.
