Firefighters’ T-shirt cancer fundraiser
The Westbrook Professional Firefighters Association is selling T-shirts in a campaign to raise breast cancer awareness.

Duddy to perform
Jose Duddy will entertain Westbrook Senior Citizens at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at the Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

Woman’s club to meet
The Westbrook Woman’s Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St.
A workday will be held to make boxes for the group’s lobster roll lunch. Members are reminded to remember their cookies. Light refreshments will be served.
Marines to celebrate birthday
The Marine Corps League invites all Marines in the area to an informational meeting followed by a birthday celebration at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the American Legion Post 197, 300 Conant St., in Westbrook. For more information, call 653-3543.
U.S. Cellular campaign boosts teachers
The local donation of $17,968 from U.S. Cellular benefited teachers at several local schools including Westbrook Middle School and Canal School in Westbrook.
The donation was part of a U.S. Cellular effort that funds classroom projects through the company’s Calling All Teachers campaign.
The wireless carrier worked with philanthropic website DonorsChoose.org to fund $500,000 in creative and impact classroom projects submitted by public school teachers.
