BRUNSWICK — Jean Kigel’s timely exhibit “Sayonara” is featured at Summer Island Studio, 149 Maine St., Nov. 1 – 31.
Her fall-into-winter theme includes recent Asian brush paintings and watercolors, painted with a dazzling palette of vermillion and violet.
Kigel’s signature piece, “Sayonara II,” captures the feel of fall with its turbulent sky tones. In this farewellto fall scene, a horizon of barren trees illuminated by a setting sun is punctuated by reeling birds.
Award-winning artist Kigel lives and paints at her studio home in Waldoboro. Her works have been widely exhibited in museum, university and private galleries, and have been reviewed in the Boston Globe and the Maine Sunday Telegram. For more information, call 373-1810.
Gallery hours are 9:30 to 5:30 Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
