Peek-a-Boo Children’s Center in the Dana Warp Mill in Westbrook will host a variety of Halloween family activities.
The center, which operates as an indoor play space for parents and their small children seven days a week, will hold four special events, including two sweet-less treasure hunts, a glow-in-the-dark treasure hunt and a Mad Science Halloween “spook-tacular” show.
On Friday, Oct. 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., coinciding with trick or treating on Main Street, Peek-a-Boo will hold a glow-in-the-dark treasure hunt with light-up toys and activities. On Sunday, Oct. 27 (9:30-11:30 a.m.) and Thursday, Oct. 31, (12:30-2:30 p.m.) children up to age 5 are invited to dress up and participate in a sweet-less treasure hunt. In lieu of candy, children will receive healthy snacks and toys.
Peek-a-Boo owner Marina Waisman said she is most excited about the Mad Science event on Wednesday, Oct. 30 (5-7 p.m.). “Scientists” will release ghosts from their bottle prisons; present foaming Jack O’Lanterns; and create cauldrons of witches’ brews.
Tickets are $5 per person in advance, $6 at the door, and adults must accompany children at all times.
Peek-a-Boo features baby play groups, dad play groups, weekly story time, music classes and open play in a 51,000-square-foot space.
