He was born in Bath on July 8, 1956, a son of Calvin H. and Marilyn (Leeman) Wing.
He attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1974. After high school he was employed on an offshore fishing boat, then cut trees and lumber with Harry Higgins. He was employed by Jerry Mitchell Paving before he went to work for the City of Bath Cemetery Department. He was employed for Public Works in Bath for the past 19 years.
On March 30, 1996, he married Debra G. Herron. He was a commercial clam digger in the Town of Phippsburg for six years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 21 of Bath and the Phippsburg Sportsman’s Association.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, kayaking, boating and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Debra G. Wing of Bath; one son, James C. Dodge of Bowdoinham; one stepdaughter, Melissa J. Arnzen and her longtime companion Benjamin Burden of Phippsburg; his brother-in-law, David Herron of Bath; and three grandchildren, Emma Warner, Kayliegh Beasley and Joshua Beasley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath. The entrance to the cemetery is off Oak Grove Avenue between the ponds. A celebration of life gathering will follow at the Phippsburg Sportsman’s Association in Phippsburg.
