The Jeep brand of internationally loved SUVs is back in 2014, and watch out, folks, because this year the company has even more to offer. No one will be able to ignore the sleek look of the universally recognizable Wrangler, which is back almost unchanged as a two- or fourdoor all-terrain vehicle. It truly deserves its sport utility designation, since it can easily be transformed into a convertible. For those who would like to own a real Jeep without the rugged mechanics but with all the great city capabilities, there is the compact Compass with its Grand- Cherokee-inspired front-end. It can be ordered with front- or all-wheel drive and a new six-speed automatic transmission. Its near-twin, the Patriot, shares a lot of technical features with the Compass but retains its older Cherokee look. Speaking of Cherokee, the name is back on a totally new mid-sized SUV that replaces the Liberty. This all-new vehicle shares its platform with the compact Dodge Dart, itself derived from an Alfa Romeo design. The Cherokee is available with front- or all-wheel drive and a four-cylinder or V-6 engine. Lastly, the biggest Jeep on the market remains the impressive all-wheel drive Grand Cherokee. It is available with a gas or diesel V-6 or regular or high-performance V-8 and one of three four-wheel-drive systems.
