DAMARISCOTTA — A memorial celebration is planned for Kate Barnes, Maine’s first poet laureate, on Saturday, Sept. 7, 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Lincoln Theater, with poetry, music, food, good conversation, good company and Kate’s spirit all around.

Readers will include Elizabeth Tibbetts, Candice Stover, Kristen Lindquist, Baron Wormser, Betsy Sholl, Wes McNair, Henry Braun, Gordon Bok, David Godine, Daniel Payne, Gary Lawless and others. The event is free and open to the public.
