U.S. Senator Angus King earlier this week praised Joe Atkins, of Cape Elizabeth, who interned with Maine’s junior senator this summer in Washington, D.C.
Atkins, who attended Cape Elizabeth High School, recently graduated from Boston University where he received a degree in management.
“Joe has been a tremendous asset to our team in Washington, D.C.,” said King. “My staff and I deeply appreciate his steadfast work ethic, positive energy, and commitment to serving the people of Maine. It has been absolutely fantastic to see him learn about and engage with the legislative process.”
“Having the opportunity to spend a summer working in the U.S. Senate has been a truly rewarding experience,” Atkins said. “There is no better place to learn about our government and I feel lucky to have this internship with Sen. King.”
