PHIPPSBURG — A program from geology professor Michael Retelle titled “Monitoring and documenting changes in the Beaches of Phippsburg, Maine,” will be presented at the Popham Beach Public Library at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Retelle is involved in research programs and projects in the Norwegian arctic, Shetland Islands and Maine. His Bates College students have been doing research projects on the Phippsburg beaches since the mid-1990s, including studies on Sewall, Small Point and Popham beaches.

Everyone — particularly those with shorefront property — should be interested in the professor’s information. He is currently a geology professor at Bates College and has done doctorate and post doctorate work at the University of Massachussetts.

The program is free.
