Following the death of her mother at age five, she was raised by her stepmother Helen Bushee Moeller Meyer. Virginia graduated from Fennville, MI, High School in 1945. She moved to Chicago a week after graduation where she met her best friend love of her life Steve Theodore Eustathion. They were married in Washington, D.C., April 18, 1947 and traveled together during his Navy career. Steve was transferred to the Brunswick Naval Air Base in late August 1959 where they brought their first home in Brunswick to settle down and raised their family. Virginia lost her beloved Steve died on June 7, 2000.
Virginia was employed for 28 years as secretary and librarian at Brunswick Junior High School, a job she totally loved she retired in July 1995.
Mrs. Eustathion’s world was her late husband, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her church and her beautiful flower garden. She enjoyed cooking, baking and creating crafts with her family and friends.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving on the Worship, Education, Stewardship and Evangelism Committees. Virginia and Steve served on the Building Committee for the new church from Pleasant Street to where it stands today Church Road. She was the church librarian for many years and a Lay speaker for the United Methodist Church in Brunswick. She enjoyed spending hours at the church for the public suppers, Christmas fairs, plant sales, teaching Sunday school and taking part in sharing groups. Virginia was a leader in both the Boys and Girls Scouting Associations.
Virginia was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Moeller and Otto Meyer Jr.
She is survived by a sister Shirley Steanburg of Fennville, MI, a daughter Barbara Jo Rosado of Bristol, RI; a son Calvin Theodore Eustathion and his wife Lana Lou of Annville Pa, and a daughter Penelope Sue Koucoules and her husband George Michael of Brunswick. Nine grandchildren Brian Scott Rosado and his wife Lora Lee, Steve Martin Rosado, Brett Matthew Rosado and his wife Maria Theresa, Robert-John Eustathion, Jayme Michael Koucoules and his wife Ericka, Sean Alexander Rosado, Brad Christopher Rosado and his wife Melissa Brinkman, Daniel Eustathion, and Amanda Michelle Koucoules. Eight great-grandchildren Joshua Thomas Theodore Rosado, Jordan Elizabeth Rosado, Ashley Morgan Rosado, Natasha Nicole Koucoules, Noah Scott Rosado, Madison Paige Brinkman Rosado, Grace Maria Rosado and Max Alexander Koucoules. Lots of nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Raymond Roads with the Rev. Karen L. Munson officiating. Interment will be in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
