BRUNSWICK — CHANS Home Health Care will offer a 10-week training program for people interested in becoming a hospice volunteer.
Starting Sept. 9, the classes will be held Mondays from 4-7 p.m. at the CHANS Hospice Building, 45 Baribeau Drive.
Training is free and will prepare people to deal compassionately and sensitively with end-of-life issues.
Upon completion, volunteers will be able to offer services to a patient and their family during the last phases of life. They also serve as companions to the terminally ill and may be a supportive listener, run errands, or provide respite for caregivers.
