The Pejepscot Historical Society invites visitors to join the Joshua L. Chamberlain Bowdoin College walking tour, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.
Dean Clegg, Chamberlain Museum tour guide, will lead visitors through the Bowdoin College campus and its buildings, highlighting Joshua L. Chamberlain’s lifelong involvement at the college.
As a student, professor and, later, president of the school, Chamberlain left an indelible mark on Bowdoin — and the college left its mark on him.
Participants will meet at the Chamberlain Museum, 226 Maine St. There is only limited parking available on site. The fee is $3 for Pejepscot Historical Society members; for nonmembers, it’s $3 in advance, $5 at the door.
