The Greater Portland Propsnappers Club, the local radio controlled model airplane club, sponsored a training session at a Scarborough field this week for the ACE Academy. ACE is an annual week-long camp under the auspices of the FAA, Portland Jetport, and other aviation-related groups. At the field, the young people were given an orientation about R/C models, then each participant got to try their hand at flying a model with the assistance of one of our experienced fliers. The trainers were Peter Flanagan, Mike Fasulo and Bill Lairsey, assisted by Calvin Haines, Lenny Tiedwell and Frank Maguire.
