DAMARISCOTTA — An opening reception for “Jean Kigel: 15th Annual Eastern Views — Recent Asian Brush and Watercolor” will be held Friday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at River Arts West Gallery on Route 1.

Paintings will be on exhibit through Aug. 14.

Kigel’s signature work, “Homarus Lafite Rothschild 1961” represents her playful side, following in her tradition of painting the iconic lobster. Other series include works of Maine scenes and the Bowdoin Pines.
