FREEPORT — Award-winning author, musician and conservationist Phillip Hoose will be at Freeport Community Library to share from his latest book, “Moonbird: A Year on the Wind with the Great Survivor B95,” on Wednesday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m.

The story looks at a now 20- year-old bird — a merely 4 ounce marathoner — that has flown the equivalent of to the moon and halfway back, approximately 320,000 miles.

This book is for anyone who’s looked up at a soaring flock of shorebirds and wondered where they were going. Hoose takes you there, on the wings of a phenomenal little superbird known as B95.
