Gina Hamilton has joined the reporting staff of The Times Record.

Hamilton is former editor of the Coastal Journal, current editor of The New Maine Times — an online nonprofit — and a weekly contributor of Smart Money, a weekly column about politics and business.

“Gina is a veteran journalist who has covered the Mid-coast region and knows its people and places well,” Managing Editor Bob Mentzinger said. “She lives in Bath and has an impressive resume that includes a short stint as an adjunct physics teacher at Bowdoin College in addition to her numerous reporting and editing experiences in the Mid-coast.”

Hamilton will cover Bath and Harpswell, in addition to coordinating arts and entertainment features.
