He was born September 8, 1939, in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Roy Edward and Marjorie Clark Weymouth. He was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Bowdoin College, class of ’61, and Tufts University School of Medicine, class of ’65. He married Sally J. Shaffer on June 25, 1966.
Dr. Weymouth served his country in the U.S. Navy as a physician at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, NC from 1965-1966 and as Senior Medical Officer of Parris Island, SC from 1991-1994.
During his career he held several positions including physician at Orthopedics Associates, medical director and physician for Bowdoin College, Phillips Academy, Andover, MA, and Carleton & St. Olaf College. He also served as staff physician for several of the United States Soccer Federation National Teams.
Following his retirement, he pursued his life’s passion, becoming a master craftsman in woodworking. He and Mrs. Weymouth traveled the world, having visited China, Europe and South East Asia. His favorite of all his destinations was Paris, France.
He is survived by his wife Sally of Bailey Island; a son David Clark Weymouth and his wife Stella of Phoenix, MD; a daughter, Laura Lynn Weymouth Horne and her husband Peter of Charlotte, NC.; and four grandchildren.
Friends and family can visit 5-8pm Friday June 21, 2013 at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will follow 10 AM Saturday at the Bailey Island Union Church. Interment will be in Bailey Island Cemetery.
