BRUNSWICK — The second annual Movies in the Park — a series of free film screenings taking place in Brunswick’s Nathaniel Davis Park in June, July and August — has been announced by the NorthWest Brunswick Neighborhood Association.
Third Thursday Movies in the Park will take place on June 20, July 18 and Aug. 15, with rain dates for each on the following Sundays (June 23, July 21 and Aug. 18). Movies will begin at dusk.
“Star Trek” will be screened in June followed by “The Amazing Spider-Man” in July and “We Bought a Zoo” in August. Concessions will offer popcorn, candy, gelato and drinks. Picnicking is encouraged.
In a news release, member Louise Rosen said, “Davis Park is a natural amphitheater with trees on three sides. It’s a perfect setting for outdoor movie watching,” said Rosen, who, along with Laura Lienert, have organized the screenings.
The entrance to Davis Park is on Pleasant Street, next to Tess’ Market. Free parking is available in the lot at Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union on Cushing Street.
Movies in the Park is a collaboration with the Brunswick Parks & Recreation Department with major funding from The Gelato Fiasco, which is also providing a concession at the screenings; Coastal Orthopedics; and Priority Real Estate Group.
