RON CARROLL AND FRIENDS

BRUNSWICK — Ron Carroll and Friends will pay tribute to Scott Joplin, commonly referred to the King of Ragtime and Al Jolson, one of the greatest entertainers of all times on Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at Crooker Theater, 116 Maquoit Road.

This tribute will include a summary of Scott Joplin’s life presented by an ensemble of actors and a number of rags played by Carroll who has the reputation of being one of the best pianists in the area. Dan Konieczko will play Al Jolson and Pam Tondreau will play Fannie Brice.

Cast members include Andy Barber, Ann Glover, Dan Konieczko, Marcelle Lachance, Mike Millett, Amy Pekar and Pam Tondreau as well as musicians Ron Carroll on piano; Claude Bonang on saw, bones and spoons; and Doug Protsik on banjo with dancers Lilly Gardner, Rowan Joyce and Maddie Wayne. Lighting designer is Henry Eichman. Choreography is by Pam Tondreau and Lilly Gardner.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $10 at Gulf of Maine Books and Warmings Market on Maine Street and also from Hannaford Supermarket in Brunswick. On the day of the show, tickets will be available at the door for $12. The proceeds from the show will go to The Gathering Place/Clothing Bank on Union Street in Brunswick.
