FIFTH-GRADERS Jacob McLaughlin and Jacob Demers share “The Colonist Columns” — a historical newspaper made in cooperation with staffers from The Times Record — with parents Wednesday at West Bath School’s Celebration of Learning, held each year as a culminating event in the school’s Expeditionary Learning program. Megan Phillips’ fifthgrade class was asked “what is history?” and “how do you know it’s accurate?” for their study, which included a trip to Boston’s Freedom Trail as the students explored the Revolutionary War and its role in American history.
