WESTBROOK – A teacher was charged with assault and criminal threatening following an incident at Westbrook High School on Thursday.

According to Westbrook police Capt. Tom Roth, Christopher Conroy, 41, was summonsed after the police were called to respond to a confrontation. According to the Westbrook School Department website, Conroy is a social studies teacher at the high school.

Roth would not give any details on the other party involved in the incident.

Superintendent Marc Gousse said he had no comment on the ongoing investigation. Conroy remains employed with the school district, Gousse said.
