BRUNSWICK — Talented local musicians and dancers, ages 6 to 99, have an opportunity to compete for fame and prizes at the 2013 Brunswick Rotary Hometown Idol, Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at Orion Performing Arts Center, 66 Republic Drive, Topsham.

The winner will have an opportunity to perform at the Maine State Music Theatre’s “Footlight Follies” on Aug. 12.

Judges for Hometown Idol are Curt Dale Clark, artistic consultant for the Maine State Music Theatre; singer and actress Lynne McGhee; and Diana Hansen, performer, teacher and recording artist. Steve McCausland, the voice of the Maine Department of Public Safety, will serve as master of ceremonies.

The deadline for applications has been extended and contestants will be accepted on a first-come basis.

Tickets to Saturday’s show are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and $30 for a family.
