GORHAM – State fire investigators are returning to Gorham on Wednesday to continue probing cause of a pre-dawn fire at a Gorham residence about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Gorham Fire Chief Robert Lefebvre said Monday that a two-alarm fire destroyed a garage and substantially damaged the home at 34 Highland Ave. Lefebvre said the fire started in the garage and extended to the house.

The home was occupied and everyone made it out of the blaze and there were no injuries, Lefebvre said. Explosions at the fire were determined to be spray paint containers in the garage.

Firefighters from Scarborough, Standish and Windham responded to the scene in a residential area in Gorham Village.
