AUGUSTA — Three Maine brewing companies will be newcomers at the fifth annual Central Maine Brew Fest at the Augusta Armory on Saturday, April 13, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Black Bear, Geaghan’s and Rising Tide will, for the first time, join a dozen Maine breweries offering tastes of their latest flavors at this festive event.
In addition to beer tasting, entertainment will be provided by Pat Pepin and her Blue Ribbon Band. Pepin sings the blues and plays tenor sax and has been the festival’s highlight performer in recent years.
The festival is also known for its valuable raffle prizes. This year giveaways will include a complete home brew setup valued at $250 from Richmond Home Brew Supply and a pair of tickets to a Boston Red Sox game. Richmond Home Brew will be displaying its equipment at the festival as well as providing information and advice to current or potential home brew enthusiasts.
Ticket holders will receive a souvenir tasting glass, tickets for 12, 4 ounce tastes, and entry into raffle drawings. Souvenir T-shirts and food will be available for purchase.
Tickets are available at Jokas’ and Mainely Brews in Waterville, Lisa’s Restaurant in Augusta, The Liberal Cup in Hallowell and Fat Toad’s Pub in Farmingdale. Ticket holders will be able to enter the Armory beginning a 1:30 p.m. and tickets will go on sale at the door beginning at 2:30.
