Maine forest rangers are warning “mudders.”

“Unauthorized mudding on roads or private property is not good, clean fun,” Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Commissioner Walt Whitcomb said in a news release. “Making the mud fly is more than likely causing a significant amount of private property, crop or environmental damage.”

Whitcomb said damage from mudding is a crime, and police are on alert. Recently, an Eddington driver was fined $250 after driving on a closed Bureau of Parks and Lands road in Bradley.
