A granite statue known as the Laughing Buddha has been stolen from a Bowdoin College lawn.
The statue of an Asian fisherman holding a fish under one arm is about 2- / feet high and weighs several hundred pounds, Brunswick police Capt. Mark Waltz said Monday.
Police believe the unique object, valued at approximately $1,500, was taken on or about March 14.
The statue was donated along with other statues and artifacts in 1935 by the estate of alumnus Marshall Perley Cram. Anyone with information should call 725-6670, ext. 103. FOR MORE, see the Bangor Daily
