THE THIRD SOUTHERN MAINE Elementary Math League meet was held in Portland on March 7 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay. RSU 1 students participating were fifth-grade teams from Fisher Mitchell, Phippsburg Elementary and West Bath Elementary. Of the 31 teams competing, Fisher Mitchell took eighth place. Sixth-grade teams participating came from Bath Middle School and Woolwich Central School, with Bath placing ninth. Penelope Shields, a sixth grader from Bath Middle School, took an individual fifth-place ribbon.
