YARMOUTH — Clarence B. Hodgdon, 84, resident of Rand Road in Yarmouth, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Tide Well Hospice in Venice, FL. He was born February 6, 1929 in Brunswick a son of Arthur and Hattie (Linnell) Hodgdon. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Brunswick High School with the Class of 1947. He then attended the Auburn, ME School of Commerce and graduated from Bentley College in 1955 with a degree in accounting.
Clarence served in the US Army in Korea from 1951- 1953.
His career was spent as an accountant and treasurer for Bicknell Photo services in Scarborough for 32 years.
Hodge loved the ocean and spent a lot of time on his boat with his wife and his friends. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his wife for the past 24 years. He enjoyed reading and will be remembered as a private man that never shared a cross word about anyone. He was loved by many.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucy P. (Michaud) Hodgdon of Yarmouth, a sister Emily Aiken of Newport, NH, a niece, Virginia and her husband Wayne Palmer of Springfield, NH, 6 grand nieces and nephews and his special friends, George Tetu, Robert Hood and David Hughey.
An hour of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Brackett funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME. A funeral service with military honors will follow at 11AM at the funeral home with Reverend Ron McLaughlin officiating. Spring interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Yarmouth.
