He attended schools in Topsham and graduated from Lisbon High School. He was a member of the American Legion, Topsham Garden Club and the Maine Bee Keepers Association. While he was in the 8th Army Air Corps as an M.P., he married the former Doreen Hunt in England in 1945. They enjoyed more than 67 years together. He worked at Bath Iron Works as a machinist for 45 years. After his retirement, he ran his own greenhouse.
Harrison is survived by his wife Doreen of Topsham, three sons David and his wife Christine of Warren, Mark and his wife Anita of Topsham and Stanley and his wife Annette of Brunswick. He also leaves behind a sister, Norma Cowan and a brother Norman Wakely as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his twin brother Larrison.

Services and burial at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta will be private per Mr. Wakely’s wishes.
