Firefighters responded to a home across the street from the scene of a deadly Feb. 12 propane explosion on Tuesday night to investigate a resident’s report of a propane smell.
Firefighter Kip Newell said the complaint — from 16 Bluff Road — was unfounded. The smell might have been from a skunk running around in the neighborhood, he said.
The home is across the street from 29-31 Bluff Road, where a propane-ignited explosion blew up a duplex and killed Dale Ann Fussell, 64, on Feb. 12.
“He was nervous,” Newell said of the caller. “He was looking right across the street at that explosion, so I don’t blame him.”
