There are many groups and workshops available where you can get valuable and helpful information about a variety of health topics. Sometimes, all it takes is an objective look at an issue, to make it bearable and easier to deal with. This week we will list a few of these meetings – perhaps one will be of interest to you.
If you have an ongoing health concern or a chronic illness, you know how easy it is to feel like your health issues are taking over your life. Southern Maine Agency on Aging periodically hosts Living Well Workshops, which teach how to better handle pain and fatigue, give tips for eating well, ways to get and stay active, skills on how to talk with your doctor and family about your health, and much more. Workshops meet for two hours a week for six weeks. The next workshop will be held at Naples Town Hall, Monday, Feb. 25 through April 1 from 9:30 a.m.-noon. For more information or to register, call 396-6583 or email jleblanc@smaa.org.
No matter where one lives, sooner or later a medical appointment will be made in Scarborough, or more accurately, South Portland. We are fortunate these days to have many medical offices and facilities in the more rural areas, but for some specialized health issues, we may need to travel. Team up with a friend and learn something new – for free.
