Knox began her ministry in Wiscasset on Feb. 3. She’ll serve on a half-time basis, according to a news release from the church.
The Rev. Knox was ordained to the priesthood June 25, 2011. She currently has an outreach ministry at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Portland and is present at the St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry on Tuesdays to provide pastoral care and help with individual needs.
On Wednesday she is at the cathedral for those seeking care and assistance and to collaborate with others in the community to relieve suffering of those in need.
She plans to continue her Portland ministry in addition to her role at St. Philip’s.
Knox, who now lives in Harpswell, spent a year with Ecclesia Ministries in Boston, a ministry to the homeless that functions as a parish. She also spent 20 years as a member of the Episcopal Church in Readfield.
She says she looks forward to participating in parish ministry with St. Philip’s.
St. Philip’s will continue to have morning prayer one Sunday a month, allowing Regina to share her outreach ministry with other parishes on that Sunday.
