PORTLAND — The Maine Academy of Modern Music and Portland Music Foundation are extending the registration window for 2013 MAMM SLAM — “Maine’s hottest high school battle of the bands.”

The new deadline is Feb. 28. Young bands interested in winning $1,000 sponsored by the Rusty Rocket Foundation, along with coveted recording time, TV appearances, radio play, gigs and professional marketing direction, can register at www.mainetoday.com/mamm slam.

Preliminaries are held March 30-31 at the Big Easy. Finals are held April 27 at Asylum, featuring a performance by The Fogcutters.
