Tuesday, Jan. 1

Arson – At 4:55 p.m. a Black Point Road mother asked to talk to police officers about multiple fires set by her 5-year-old son, including a recent incident of burned curtains and bedding.

Friday, Jan. 4

Domestic dispute – At 2:59 a.m. police responded to an apartment on Broadturn Road following a 911 call. They left after “restoring the peace” but were called back roughly three hours later for a domestic assault.

Theft – At 12:40 p.m. a taxicab parked on Elmwood Avenue reported a woman who refused to pay her fare from Portland.

Vandalism – At 1:22 p.m. a Hunnewell Road homeowner reported finding a fire extinguisher and a “smashed egg” inside the property’s mailbox. Police say the fire extinguisher was traced to a previous theft in Biddeford.

Saturday, Jan. 5

Threatening – At 9:53 a.m. two men were involved in an altercation at Sullivan Tire on Route 1, each accusing the other of “threatening to kill” him.

Sunday, Jan. 6

Theft – At 10:51 a.m., the male involved in the Jan. 4 domestic issues on Broadturn Road, reported seeing a “female known to him but not the victim in the previous incident” leaving his apartment with three large bags. Missing from the home was $1,000 worth of items including smart phones, cameras and woman’s clothing.

Theft – At 4:12 p.m. a man ran out of the Rite-Aid on Route 1 without paying for an unknown quantity of “items in his pockets.” According to police, charges are pending as the man, who had just filled a prescription in the pharmacy, “is known to the the store.”

Theft – At 6:06 p.m. a woman returned to the Marden’s on Payne Road stating that she had forgotten her purse in the store. Police say surveillance camera show a person picking up the purse and an investigation is under way.

Robert B. Darling, 37, of Scarborough, at 5:42 p.m. on Vagabond Street, on charges of violating a protection from abuse order and disorderly conduct.

Jason A. Sanchez, 20, of Saco, at 5:52 p.m. on Route 1, on a charge of domestic violence assault.
