BATH — Adaline B. Perow, 85, of Cobb Road passed away peacefully Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Freeport Nursing and Convalescent Center in Freeport.
She was born in Georgetown on July 21, 1927, a daughter of Maurice G. Sr. and Millicent B. (Mains) Hinckley.
As a young girl she attended Georgetown school which is now Richards Library. She was employed at Bath Iron Works Canteen at the end of World War II, delivering hot food to the workers by bicycle. She was employed at various restaurants in the area as a cook and waitress. She was a cook and pastry cook at Bath Memorial Hospital for 30 years.
She enjoyed yard sales with her daughter Sharon and cousin Rachel. She also enjoyed Beano but most of all she enjoyed her boxer dogs, Baron, Rowdy, Max and Draco.
She met and married Joseph B. Perow and together they raised a family. She was a caring and generous person and at times outspoken, always with love for her family.
She was predeceased by a son, Joseph B. Perow Jr., a brother, Charles “Louie” Hinckley, two sisters, Arlene Mains and Alice Crocker.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Cummings of Brunswick and Sharon Johnston and her husband John of North Bath, three sons, Charles and his wife Carolyn of Harpswell, Dana Perow of Bath and Douglas Perow of Wiscasset, a brother, Maurice Hinckley, Jr., eight grandchildren, Susie, Kim, Misty, Chuck, Jason, Tracie, Krista and Ben, 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends and cousins including Rachel M. and Pamela K., nieces and nephews, Kathy. Patty and special nephew, Jon Whittaker.
A hour of visitation will be held 10 to 11 AM, Friday, January 4, 2013 with a celebration of Life to follow at 11 AM at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Burial will be at Mountainside Cemetery in Georgetown in the spring. Where she loved to cook and did so for so many, memorial contributions may be made to the Bath Area Food Bank, P.O.
