LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS and members of Sail Maine’s high school sailing programs are presented with a $371 check from The Gelato Fiasco, a Brunswick-based food retailer.

Working with several academic and nonprofit groups, The Gelato Fiasco helped raise more than $3,000 through its Scooping for Community days.

In autumn, the company launched a series of fundraisers to benefit local schools and nonprofits with daylong fundraising events in which 100 percent of pre-tax sales were donated back to the partner organizations.

Since October, the one-day events have raised more than $3,000 for partner organizations, with some single events netting more than $500.

The Gelato Fiasco will continue to host Scooping for Community days throughout January. The privately heldcompany’s flagship store is in Brunswick.
