BRUNSWICK — Meredith Smithson has joined Thornton Oaks Retirement Community as health services coordinator, replacing Ann Marchese, who retired after

19 years in the position.

“I just love working with the senior population,” Smithson said. “They are so fascin ating because they have so much life experience and great stories to share.”

Smithson was the asthma educator at Mid Coast Hospital and has several years of experience in retirement and assisted living residences in the Greater Portland area.

Thornton Oaks Retirement Community is a homeowner’s cooperative on 29 wooded acres in Brunswick.
