Taste Of Maine Restaurant in Woolwich will offer a 99- cent buffet for patrons who bring in a new, unopened toy at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.
Buffet will be served “until we run out of food,” said owner Candy Gregory.
In partnership with Music and Moore, of Brunswick, and Coastal Glass Window, Bath, Taste Of Maine will also offer 10-percent discounts for unopened toys brought to those businesses before Saturday, Dec. 15.
In Harpswell, Curt Parent and the staff of Cook’s Lobster House will host a benefit for the Harpswell Heating Assistance Program and the Harpswell Santa Fund from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
The event will feature a silent auction, karaoke entertainment and a visit from Santa at 6 p.m. A list of auction items may be seen at www.cookslobster.com.
The event will send toy donations to Roy and Deb Knight at Harpswell Santa Fund using 100 percent of proceeds from the auction and 10 percent from food sales.
In Brunswick, Tontine Mall is pledging $1,000 to the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program using shoppers’ donations that come from coupons offered by shop owners.
