PORTLAND — Sacred Harp Singing will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at The New Church, 302 Stevens Ave.

This four-part singing tradition — also known as Shape Note Singing — originated just after the American Revolution and is enjoying a revival nationwide. This is not a performance, everyone is welcome to participate.
