TOPSHAM — Helen P. Perry, 96, of 54 Governors Way, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.

She was born in the Panama Canal Zone, July 3, 1916, the daughter of Maj. James M. and Florence M. Patterson Piercy. She graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg, Pa., and, after completing business college, was employed by the Social Security Administration, one of its earliest employees.

She married Albert H. Rote in 1939, and Richard F. Perry in 1953. Mrs. Perry moved here from North Andover, Mass., in 2006. During her life she had lived in many locations throughout the U.S., and twice in Panama due to her father’s military service.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane P. and her husband, Raymond E. Hender of Topsham; her grandson, Taylor J. Hender and his wife, Nicole S. of Grottoes, Va.; and two great-granddaughters, Caroline Elizabeth and Leighann Blair Hender.
