BRUNSWICK — Susan Baecker Matteson, 71, resident of Brunswick Maine died November 15, 2012 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice Home in Scarborough, Maine.
Susan was born in Orange, NJ on August 3, 1942. She graduated from Kean College with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She had the pleasure to sail with the Mariners as a counselor for several years. She was a founding member of the local PEO, chapter G. However, the true love of Susan’s life other than her family, was entertaining others with her piano playing and teaching. She adored teaching piano to children and adults for 45 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Baecker Sparro, son-in-law Christopher Sparro, grandchildren Kaylee and Ryan, as well as former husband and friend Henry Baecker of West Bath, Maine.
A memorial celebration will take place at First Parish Church of Brunswick in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
